Yes they do! We recently visited the Columbia Maritime Museum in Astoria, OR, where there is an excellent display and information about the Coast Guard. We were mightly impressed at their willingness to risk their lives on a daily basis assisting those trying to navigate the Pacific Ocean/Columbia River confluence.
