I should probably pay more attention to the terrain in which I am living when I decide that an afternoon run is a great way to find my around. Particularly when I'm living on what is essentially a ridge between two canyons. Canyons don't just go up and down, there's a lot of elevation change in both directions the entire time. It turned my short little familiarization run into an "OMG how many times can the elevation change in two miles" run. Of course, the view from part of the run was a little distracting.
That's downtown San Diego on the other side of the canyon. There was a bit of puzzlement though, and not just from getting myself lost...
It was much more confusing from further away. I'll probably not be going to that end of my street to run again any time soon since my body was at a 45% angle for a fair portion of it - the road ends because it's no longer able to cling to the side of the canyon.
San Diego is hilly? Who knew?
If it's hilly like Monterey is hilly, that would be awesome.
