My house sitter reported that we reached a count of 100 hats today. That's great ... and it's only Oct. 23. With the response I've been getting after my last plea, I am hoping we are going to do OK. But ... if you were considering making a hat, please do. I would much rather have more than not enough. My e-mail address is lengelbert@gmail.com when you need my address.
Some sweet ladies made 36 hats, some acrylic that I will find a good home for, but ... wow! What an effort!
I am still in Hawai'i on a research project but will be returning home on Oct. 28 and will start sending out acknowledgements for the hats received.

I will get a couple more done in a hurry and send them out toward the end of this week. I'm glad you're doing this. Hats go fast, and I enjoy making them.

I have just learned about your project this week and will get as many done in a hurry as possible! As an over the road driver I can knit while my husband drives (if I do not need sleep!) And as the mother of a sailor going thru tech school at Great Lakes...
My son hopes to get a commander like your daughter!
