Mom's not the only one who's working on new techniques this month.
I'm trying my hand at entrelac with Silk Garden, which seems to be the preferred yarn for this technique thanks to it's long color runs. In this case, I wish my color runs were a little shorter - I went through three rows before I got a significant color change from green to purple. I'm not really enjoying the process, but I'm not sure if it's the yarn or the technique. My hands hurt to the point where I can knit two rows and then I need to stop. Oddly enough, the 4 ply cotton I'm using for Martha doesn't hurt my hands at all, so I'm alternating.
