Saturday and Sunday were indeed as dreary and thunderstorm-filled as predicted. So, I knit for much of Saturday and on Sunday I cleared off the living room table (with is roughly 3x3 feet, so large enough for all kinds of fiber work) and started working with fabric for a series of quilts. The fabric is from my dad's shirts and the quilts are for the grandkids first, and then for the rest of the family, depending on how much fabric I have left. I suspect there will be plenty given that I spent a full day disassembling shirts and am not even halfway through the pile. It's made me a bit sad, but Stormy doesn't seem to have been infected by the mood or the weather.
While I cut things up, I watched movies. Water, which was lovely and very, very sad. And then History Boys, Charlotte's Web, and Zoom, which provided comic relief. I'm watching Stranger than Fiction now. All worthwhile, if for different reasons.
I pulled weeds and looked at the blossoms - I seem to have bugs that bite off the blossoms of plants - I've noticed tomato blossoms, eggplant blossoms and pepper flowers on the ground. I think I need a better insecticide. Then I went to the movies. Because, really, what better to do on the only sunny day of a long three day weekend than to go to the movie theater? I have an odd logic, but I wanted to see the new Pirates movie. It was good, but a bit much.
