And mine arrived today. There was much celebration in the halls of the Pentagon today. Also, I was a little close to tears. I don't know that I ever thought I'd be looking at a set of orders sending me to command a ship. Even if it is at the end of a long list of intermediate stops - eight months worth in fact. Not only that, but I keep coming back here to DC when there's a break in schools. I spent the evening break in class with a calendar and the orders. Guess I don't need to get rid of the wool in the stash yet - October, November and December will be in Newport, RI at Surface Warfare Officer's School. I'll be in DC for some of December (barring the first two weeks and any holiday travel), and a few weeks in January and February as well.
So, there's the news for the week. I've done all of about 15 rows on Audrey's sleeves due to various distractions, but the metro project is just about done. I'll cast off tonight since I don't want to do that on the train. I've got to decide if Nina comes with me next week or if I start somethng new. Probably Nina, since I want to finish her and start on Martha.
